PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION OF BRAND

The B.S. WARREN brand is a burned brand that identifies an individual hunter.  The brand is 7/16″ in height x  2 9/16″ in length in all capital letters with periods after the B and S.

BACKGROUND:

The B.S. WARREN brand was the brand of Benjamin S. Warren Jr..  He was a prominent Detroit Lawyer and member of the St. Clair Flats Shooting Company, also known as “The Canada Club,” from 1955 to 1972.  This decoy was made by Tom Chambers.  He was the manager of the Canada Club From 1900 to 1943.  He made hundreds of high quality decoys and sold them to hunters.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION OF BRAND:

Block letters, all caps, ½” X 2”. There is a burned period after the “C’ and the “H” only; there is no period after the”G.”

BACKGROUND:

CHG is a burned brand for Charles H. Gooderham, who was a member of the St. Clair Flats Shooting Co. from 1883-1895. This brand is on the bottom of a Drake bluebill by George Warin.
